Asian Lit Bingo 2018

Hello everyone! As those of you who were following my this time last year may recall, I hosted #AsianLitBingo with a group of marvellous bloggers. Here’s my wrap-up post from 2017.

#AsianLitBingo is returning this year, and I’m so excited to take part again. As I’ll be writing my MSc dissertation at the same time, I’ve decided to read less books this month.

Here’s the Bingo Sheet for 2018. There’s still time to join and you can sign up here if you want to! #AsianLitBingo is a lot of fun!

I’m going to try to complete the column that spans from multiracial/multiethnic Asian MC to South Asian MC.

My tentative TBR is:

Multiracial/multiethnic Asian MC:

The Girl from Everywhere

The Girl from Everywhere by Heidi Heilig

Poor or Working Class Asian MC

The Rice Mother

The Rice Mother by Rani Manicka

Contemporary with Asian MC:

God Smites and Other Muslim Girl Problems

God Smites and Other Muslim Girl Problems by Ishara Deen

Translated Work by an Asian author

The Beast Player

The Beast Player by Nakoko Uehashi

South Asian MC

Aru Shah and the End of Time

Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi

I’m really excited for this challenge and if any of you are joining in, do tell me. If you’ll be reading one of the books that I will also be reading, we can talk about maybe doing a buddy read!

  1. I just read Aru Shah and enjoyed it! We are very excited for the next book already. I bought The Girl From Everywhere last year and have been saving it, but a partner read would be a good reason to get it out.

      1. Rrgh so shortly after I saw this went into the hospital and things have been a whirlwind ever since. I’m guessing you probably already read this by now! But in case you haven’t I’ve sent you an email. Sorry about that!
