A new year is starting and I’ve got a few goals that I’d like to accomplish in 2018. I have a tradition where I try to do all the things that I’d like to do more of on the first day of the new year.
This one is very simple. I’d just like to sleep a bit more because I sometimes go to bed too late.
Cook more meals at home
I’m not a huge fan of cooking, however I want to do it more as it’s cheaper on my wallet. I’m going to try out new recipes, so that I don’t get bored.
I love dancing so much. It’s something that makes me very happy and relaxed. I already dance a lot, so this is more of a reminder to myself that it’s an activity that I should indulge in.
I’ve been trying to learn Sinhala for a few months. It’s kind of difficult as there aren’t any online courses – if you know of one, please tell me! I finally found a book that I think I use. My goal is to be able to speak and write Sinhala at a conversational level by the end of the year. I would also like to be able to read early reader books in Sinhala.
Improve my French.
During school and part of university, I always had French classes. I want to regain my knowledge in French. I’m going to read e-books and audio books in French as well, in order to improve my listening, reading, and comprehension skills. Do you have any recommendations for diverse books that are available in French?
Write more poetry
Poems are the way that I work through my emotions. I haven’t written many at all in the last years, which I want to change. I’m going to try to write at least one poem every week.
Take creative photos of the books I’ve enjoyed for Instagram
Most of the books I read are e-books. I often feel like it is more difficult to create aesthetically-pleasing photos of my Kindle on Instagram, in comparison to when I photograph printed books. However, I want to prove to myself that Kindle photos can look awesome! Check out my Instagram account here.
